Before the firmament breathed life into legend, man was alone, watching the skies. After the heavens returned man’s gaze, all were fearful, fleeing that which was long sought. Revelation, destruction, and rebirth – a cycle exposed in noble fashion, with light coloring the air in crimson-red hues. It was an unheard of omen bearing unknown consequences. As kingdoms rose, empires fell, and the gods were blamed. Such became normal on Atmos, where the line between reality and dreams had long been blurred.
This is the story of Atmos’s northern continent, just before a period of hardship. An unusual time of peace was preserved despite a bloody history, yet hidden forces rebel against it, vying for power during a critical time of change. As one boy would come to understand, few would be safe from what was to come.

In a new world, the center of mankind's greatest civilization holds an indispensable gift known as the Dream Engine. This machine holds the records of old in the form of visions that can be shared directly with anyone. All chronicled events can be viewed by anyone who wishes it, but a problem has occurred. The Dream Engine now forces these visions onto people, inserting fragments of antiquity into the dreams of many. Every bestowed experience then disappears from record as if it never existed. Panic ensues, as the valued history of man slips through the fingers of every dreamer in the vicinity. All are encouraged to document and submit what they witness, but the accounts are messy, and an even greater issue has emerged. Within the Dream Engine, there is evidence of sabotage.
The World of Atmos
Skiven hosts the coldest climate in Atmos, with a wall of glaciers that feed the rivers to the south. The bodies of water and mountain ranges helped divide the continent into states. Twelve of them once occupied the landmass, all remaining subservient to the ruler of Stalworth. This capital city sits between three separate mountain ranges, becoming the perfect place to control the flow of trade between nearby states.
Aglodon consists of deserts, grasslands, jungles, wetlands, and rocky mountains. Aglodon's most notable feature is the chain of volcanoes in its central region named the Rhines. These fiery mountains shook the world ages ago, destroying everything in their vicinity. After the land quaked and breathed fire, the continent came under the rule of the Typhol Kingdom, eventually uniting the people of Aglodon under one sprawling empire. The Typhol Kingdom has long been deemed the aggressor against all nations, threatening peace and stability across the globe to satiate the demands of those in power.
Hendvlask is known by many as the center of the world. It connects to both Hyllutha and Aglodon through land bridges of varying size. Hendvlask also holds the largest mountain range, known as the Thundercrest Mountains. Eventually, this continent became politically united through the Hendvlask Coalition. This alliance was formed to combat the damage often created by the battling gods.
After its founding, this coalition of nations has been managed by the Coordination Committee, which handles various problems plaguing the continent. Infrastructure is continuously rebuilt and improved, people are aided in relocation, and war is inhibited. The Coordination Committee is run in Melheshk, known as humanity's greatest city and located in the continent's center.
